Happy Birthday to us! TempTribe turned 9 on the 31st May. To celebrate our birthday, we’d like to share with you ‘Things we learnt so far’
Teamwork makes the dreamwork
As we all know work is going to be tough at times and you may have a bad day, however, when you band together great people and support each other you can overcome anything. Like accrediting over a thousand people for London 2012 Olympics. That was a tough time, but here in the office we’ve got people around us who are always ready to help and make you laugh when times get tough; we manage to get through it!
Time management is of utmost importance! Working in the office is a constant battle between different tasks fighting for your attention; phones ringing, people arriving for inductions and interviews, clients wanting to speak with you, answering emails, speaking to people trying to sell you toner, tweeting, Instagram-ing and helping each other. Being able to juggle many of these things at the same time takes a great deal of skill in time management and it’s important to master this skill as soon as possible. So basically, what we’re saying is we’re like skilled jugglers of work!
‘Variety is the spice of life’
Every day is different. Working at TempTribe it’s pretty much impossible to stick to a strict routine as you never know what or even who is going to crop up unexpectedly. From working at historical venues like the Natural History Museum, to working at some of London’s most stylish and modern hotels like The Shangri-La London, at The Shard, you can find us working all over London. They say variety is the spice of life, we definitely agree!
Being part of once-in-a-lifetime events
Working in events allows you to visit some truly awesome places and be part of once in a lifetime events; The London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, luxury hotel openings such as Hilton Bankside and Intercontinental O2, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the seriously sexy Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. You wouldn’t have the opportunity to be involved in these experiences in many other industries.
Communication is key
Communication and honesty are of utmost importance. We work with such a variety of people; caterers to the Her Majesty The Queen, the 2 largest sports stadiums in the UK (Wembley and Twickenham), luxury 5* London hotels, great exhibition centres like The ExCel, art galleries and famous London museums. Regardless of who they are, one thing we have learnt from working with all our clients is that communicating and always being honest with them is the best way to work no matter who they are.
Varied perspectives are an advantage
Everyone has different ways of thinking and viewing things. We have learnt there is a great advantage to this as it allows us to both find solutions to problems that as an individual, we may never have thought of and allows us to spot problems, we on our own may have overlooked.
