"Solving problems, soothing tensions, lifting moods ... are challenges I enjoy. I was meant to work in hospitality." - Roberto Carta, Meetings and Events Operations Manager at Town Hall Hotel, in an inspiring interview for TempTribe.
What do you love about working at the Town Hall Hotel the most?
I love the quirkiness of the hotel dog and the ‘carpeted bear’ wall hanging in one of the rooms, the harmonious blend of eclectic modern and traditional. The variety of events I run day to day at the Town Hall Hotel do not give me the chance to get bored, one day could be filming the other day a wedding.
What inspired you to work in the Hospitality industry?
Hospitality is all about people; whether you’re a spa scheduling coordinator, bellman, summer camp counsellor, bartender or working in any other position within the industry. At its core, my job’s main purpose is to make people happy. Solving problems, soothing tensions, lifting moods and facilitating experiences all to put a smile on someone’s face are challenges I enjoy. I was meant to work in hospitality.
What qualities do you think make an event staff stand out?
A genuine smile! An adaptable and easy going personality and someone who has a passion for food, wine and the dining culture around their community.
Why do you enjoy working with your staff supplier, TempTribe?
TempTribe staff are well-presented and have an excellent attitude towards work! They always come to work with a big smile on their face and are always happy to come back to work with us here at Town Hall Hotel.
What is your favourite memory from working at the Town Hall Hotel?
I don’t have a favourite memory from working at Town Hall Hotel, every day becomes a favourite memory.
Can you give a piece of advice to someone starting a career in events & hospitality?
Simply, you shouldn’t limit yourself. Build up skills in a range of different areas. Try a bit of front-of-house, a bit of back-of-house, and constantly seek to upskill yourself and learn from the people around you.
