The new series “Inside the OfficeTribe” is back! After the first interview with Lina we now bring you the scoop on your voice inside TempTribe. Brenna is YOUR advocate in all staff related queries. She’s responsible for parts of the recruitment processes, but doesn’t stop there. Once you’re on our books, Brenna is the person answering your questions and making sure the staff are well taken care of and fairly treated.
You actually started at TempTribe as an intern before you became the HR manager! Tell us more about your first months at the office.
That’s right! For my Events Management Course at Bournemouth University I had to work for 1 year in a relevant role. LOLA Staffing (now TempTribe) was the standout job that the University had listed. Everyone had applied so I figured my chances were slim – but I got the job! I primarily worked in the Recruitment department in a team of 4. Everyone was so welcoming and whether it was coordinating staff at Wembley Stadium or leading training sessions for all the new starters, I was always doing new & exciting work. I fell in love with the company & the team so (naturally) 2 weeks after my dissertation hand-in, I was back!
What are some things you wish the staff would know or remember when they call up the office?
That on the other line is a person who is trying to do their job to the best of their ability and we probably haven’t put the phone down all day! We do our best to help staff but remember there are over 4000 of you and only a handful of us. Be as patient as you can and trust that we have the best intentions for all of our hard-working staff.
TempTribe is a very diverse company. How many different nationalities do we have on our books? How does it affect the company?
We have 93 nationalities on the TempTribe books (yes – I did the maths!); with the top being British, Spanish & Italian. Having a diverse group of nationalities means that over half of the people on our books are likely to be brand new to London – so we’re all in it together! You never know who you will meet on shift and the range of cultures, perspectives, languages and experiences are so enriching. The hospitality industry in London is incredibly culturally diverse and welcomes all who are willing to work hard and even forge a long term career.
What do you think are some of the best qualities of our staff? What do you personally value in our staff?
Honesty, integrity, diligence and taking pride in their work. Yes, you are representing TempTribe and the client but remember you are also representing yourself. Treat this job with the respect and understanding that you would a standard full-time role and I guarantee you will find great success with us.
What are you looking forward to with TempTribe in the coming months?
So many exciting projects are around the corner! 2020 is here and we’re ready to make a splash in the new decade. I can’t say too much but get ready for some exciting additions to the roster of TempTribe clientele…
