It’s time! The premiere post in our new series “Inside the OfficeTribe”! The first one up is Lina – our amazing recruiter. Did you know she actually single-handedly broke our all-time recruitment record at TempTribe last November?! We’ve managed to sneak in between her interviews long enough to ask HER a few questions this time! Here’s what she shared with us:
Tell us a bit more about your role at TempTribe and what does your day look like. What is your role?
I spend most of my time at TempTribe as a recruitment assistant. That means I am the first person that all the new TempTribers meet. My job is to quickly introduce them to the company and do all the “paperwork” (in quotation marks as there is no actual paperwork. Everything is digital!). I have 6 to 8 slots a day so I meet a lot of people daily. In addition to that, I have some other admin tasks, but they take way less of my time than recruitment.
Record-breaking hiring rates at TempTribe! What’s your secret?
It won’t be a secret if I tell you. 😏
What do you look for in the candidates that interview for TempTribe? What stands out in particular, in a good or a bad way?
I am looking for a great attitude and at least a minimal preparation for the meeting. At TempTribe all the personalities and experiences are welcome. Every single candidate is different and so are our clients.
What makes you stand out in a good way? Preparation, proactivity, smile, presentation… I could keep going but I think you get what I mean. As one genius writer, J. K. Rowling, once said: “A good first impression can work wonders”. I apply this one when I interview people.
What makes you stand out in a bad way? No effort, not engaging in the activities and just acting as you are not a part of the group. Or simply not taking the interview seriously.
You used to also work as a hostess and waitress for TempTribe. What shifts did you love the most and why?
Not only as a waitress and hostess, but also a bar staff, promotional, room service, retail staff, exhibition staff, core team and etc.
I particularly enjoy working at festivals. In my opinion, it’s the most enjoyable job the temporary staffing agency can offer. Of course, the working hours are usually very long, but it is super fun!
You’re not only a recruitment star at TempTribe; you’re also a student. What are your tips on combining work and studies?
Well, I admit, working full time and studying is hard but possible. Of course, my social life suffers a bit, but I like what I’m doing. My studies, my work and my dancing classes! My tip for the people in a similar situation is the same as for everything else – since our time is so filled up, just make sure you really enjoy every part of what you do!
That’s how Lina sees it!
