What is your role at TempTribe and what does it entail?
Currently I am the HR Director at TempTribe so I oversee the office team’s performance & career progression, performance management, the recruitment of office staff, their contracts and general HR admin. I also create our HR Strategy so the company constantly has a forward thinking focus which encompasses both our temp and internal teams as well looking at how else we can improve everyone’s working experience with TempTribe. I am often tasked with several internal projects (the joys of spreadsheets!) and when we are in a busy recruitment period I will jump in to help with interviews of new temp staff. As I have been at TT for several years (8!!! almost from the very start!) I know many of our clients so really enjoy visiting them onsite and seeing our teams of staff in action.
How did you start at TempTribe?
My start at TempTribe was when it was LOLA back in 2008 as I worked as a waitress and bar girl whilst I was a freelance performer. I had registered and was working with several agencies but the LOLA team were so fun and supportive so I decided to work the majority of my shifts with them. In Sept 2009 they were looking for some office admin help during the busy period so I applied and (fortunately) passed my office trial working as the Office Admin Temp and then in Jan 2010 Duncan (TempTribe Managing Director) offered me a full time Junior Account Manager Role. And the rest is LOLA & TempTribe history!
What are you known in the office for?
Mainly 2 things – the first is that I bake fairly well and often do so for the office team (Guinness Cake!) The second is my drama queen alter ego sometimes comes out – once an actress, always an actress.
